It is in man's nature to compete. We compete amongst ourselves particularly with us pitting our dogs against each other (My dog can pull more than your dog!) But to some of us it is the fun and excitement of watching and participating in the unique and fascinating sport. Many handlers are less than expert at the requirements of it, yet it does not distract from their enjoyment. One can silently urge the dog on, and the applause when a dog really puts his heart and soul into a pull and succeeds, is thunderous. Warming the heart of the handler and surely that of the dog!
Weight pulling is the sport of having a dog pull a weighted sled down a measured 16 foot course within a 60 second time period. each dog competes within a weight class.
Ultra light 25-60
Lights 61-90
Middles 91-124
Heavies 125 and up
Prizes are awarded for placements of 1st through 3rd, with some meets giving awards to 5th place. Sometimes awards are given to pound for pound placing (a dog that pulls the most times his body weight).

WE WILL NEED ACCESS TO RABIES CERTIFICATES FOR BOTH COMPETITIONS
RABIES TAGS ALONE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY EVERYONE PARTICIPATING AND WATCHING.
Just call your vet and they can have a certificate printed for you usually for no charge.
